Interview tips according to Youtube

It's all about the "Core" in this article.

As the next batch of young professionals we should all know the basics to any story or thought we want to convey to our readers and and audience. As I came acrosss my google alerts last night there was a very cute article on Michael Figliuolo creator of "Thoughtleaders" a firm to better train people for successful communication presentations and help people understand the "core" as Michael says to any presentation.

"Start with the core idea/goal you are trying to put forward, make the argument for accomplishing that goal, aided by your data and analysis. It is critical that after the meeting, they can say, 'Yeah I see where you want to go and why it is important.'" (Michael Figliuolo).

This was a great article done on Michael by Kerri Smith, check it out everyone.

Get involved with the nonprofit organizations

I have done many nonprofit organizations events and it can only add to your resume and show involvement in the community, which is what employers are looking for a "well rounded" candidate for a job or internship. Hands on Miami is a great nonprofit organization to get involved with, so is Food for the Poor. Take a look at their site for the project of 2008 this past November we were working at the Miami Metro Zoo. let me tell you there is nothing like hanging out with all the animals and painting their pens while theya re not to far from you looking at you suspiciously. Here is the link to get involved with them.

Interesting Article on working less and earning more.

Wow, it truly amazes me, because who would have thought that in the communication industry there is a possibility to work less and earn more. According, to an article on www.msn.com there are many jobs in our field that we can obtain and not have to oeverwork ourselves.

Here is the ink to the article and some jobs they listed thought they would be helpful.

Put it on your calender folks.

Get out and go to the South Florida Media Jobs convention on April 3-4, hosted by Florida Atlantic's University Press main guy Michael Koretzky. This is a great chance to meet with the professionals and have fun! Here is the link for those interested.

Join ADFed

AdFed is a great nonprofit organization under the Advertising Federation of Fort Lauderdale. This was a great experience as an intern and even the networking events are at fun spots in downtown Fort Lauderdale and you are able to mingle with the professionals in the industry.

Everyone should join the SPRSA.

Hello everyone,

If you're not in this networking site as a communication or advertising major join the South Florida Public Relations Association. It all beings here and can open the doors for your networking and job search to begin. The moderator of the site is Linda Hamburger who is a "PR" expert and also helpful in the resume area.
